Well, just about a year later we were faced with another all to familiar issue, but this time with Zeke.
Zeke began throwing up blood with his food after eating. We took him to the vet on Wednesday, and after an ultrasound, we were told that there is a growth at the base inside his stomach. |
It was a spot where the vet felt he could not do the surgery due its location in the stomach and the proximity to the other vital organs.
If we wanted to go further, that we would have to see a surgeon and he suggested the Vet Hospital here in Rochester. We asked about taking Zeke to Cornell.
Since we were open to travel, our Vet suggested we could take Zeke to Buffalo and have Dr James Fingeroth look at him. Dr Fingeroth was a graduate of Cornell, and even started the Vet Hospital in Rochester before recently going out to Buffalo. It just made sense to go with that. |
At this point, the only thing we could do is pray and ask for God take away the growth. We know that this was not an accident. That God has something to show us from this if we would just be patient and listen. |
At a minimum, we thought we would at least get a second opinion and see exactly what it would cost. We scheduled an appointment for Thursday and went out to Orchard Park in Buffalo. We met with the Surgeon. After further tests, they were able to confirm the mass. But without getting a biopsy of the growth, they could not feel comfortable with doing surgery. This meant more tests and, well, much more money. |
That was all we could do and afford for now and we left a little discouraged. |
Driving home from Buffalo, we saw a sign at a church. "When you give to God, you always get back change."
So we will give this problem to God and see what change he will bring. |
